A CIRCUS with a difference has announced it will arrive this spring.
Circus Starr works with local businesses to provide free circus tickets to community groups and charities who cannot afford them.
It raises money by selling firms advance tickets, which are then passed on to deserving groups.
This year it is coming to Walpole Park, in Gosport, with two shows at 4.45pm and 7pm on Wednesday, May 4.
It will be raising money for Wessex Children’s Hospice Trust and Naomi House Children’s Hospice.
Circus Starr director Neville Wilson said: ‘Audiences will be taken on a journey from the strolling minstrels and jesters of medieval times through to the circus of our Victorian ancestors, and right up to the contemporary circus of the 21st century.’
He added that international clowns and acrobats will perform inside a traditional big top.
Last year, Circus Starr donated more than £1.2m worth of tickets to groups in the UK.
