A UNIVERSITY of Portsmouth initiative is encouraging people to go green to raise money for a national charity.

Purple Door Recruitment, which helps students with career prospects and work experience, is supporting the Go Green campaign for the NSPCC.

People are being encouraged to do green-themed fundraisers and Purple Door Recruitment kicked off with a raffle last Friday.

Jane Howe, volunteering co-ordinator for Purple Door Recruitment, said: ‘As well as the raffle, we will also be embracing the colour green by wearing green clothes.

‘Go Green is an excellent campaign. The ChildLine Schools Service does a very important job and through this campaign we hope that the money raised will ensure every child in Hampshire should be able to benefit from the service.

‘Most importantly they will learn who they can go to for help.’
