A RARE collection of historic photographs will be seen for the first time thanks to a £50,000 lottery grant.

They date from the 19th century and show key events in Chichester Cathedral’s history.

They have been hidden away in the cathedral library but will now be catalogued and digitised made available online.

The project begins on March 30 at the Vicars Hall from 10.30am. The public are invited to bring along any cathedral-related memorabilia with a story to tell.

The objects and recollections will form a People’s Archive.
