Congestion eased after a crash involving three vehicles caused delays for drivers on the A3 this morning

The accident happened just before 8am on the northbound carriageway near the turn off for Buriton and the Queen Elizabeth Country Park.

Hampshire Police were called to the road traffic collision involving three vehicles at 7.53 am.

The collision involved a VW Golf, VW Polo and a Ford Transit van, with one of the cars going into the reservation barrier.

Queues built up from the end of the A3M at Catherington as emergency service dealt with the accident.

One lane was closed to assist recovery of the vehicle, but the congestion has now reduced.

At 10.01 am Hampshire traffic centre Romanse tweeted: ‘#A3 northbound - Delays eased northbound to #Butser.’
