TWO motorcyclists have been taken to hospital after a head-on crash on the A32.
The accident happened near Wickham at about 4.50pm today. Both the male riders have been injured in the crash. One has been taken to Queen Alexandra Hospital in Portsmouth, and the other to Southampton General Hospital.
A spokeswoman for South Central Ambulance Service said that neither man was thought to have suffered life-threatening injuries.
The air ambulance was sent out and landed at the accident scene, which is near Sydenhams and the Pump House Auction site, north of Wickham.
The road was closed but has now been reopened.
The ambulance spokeswoman said paramedics treated two men, one in his 20s and one in his 30s.
Simon West, a lorry driver from Medina Processing in Wickham, was one of the first drivers to arrive after the crash.
‘By the time I got here, there were three cars here and the crash had just happened,’ he said. ‘The ambulances were here very quickly - they were fast and very good.’
A police spokesman said: ‘Two motorbikes collided head-on. Both riders are injured, one more seriously than the other.’
