Person hit by train at Portchester train station

A PERSON has been hit by a train, British Transport Police have said.

It happened at Portchester train station at about 2.08pm.

A statement from South West Trains said: 'Due to emergency services dealing with an incident between Fareham and Hilsea all lines are blocked.

'Train services running through these stations may be cancelled, delayed by up to 60 mins or diverted via Havant. Disruption is expected until (6pm).

'A person has been hit by a train between Fareham and Hilsea and all lines are blocked in the area. Emergency services have been called to attend this incident.

'The following train plan will be in place shortly: London to Portsmouth Harbour services departing at 09 minutes past each hour will be diverted via Havant. Portsmouth Harbour to London Waterloo services departing at 59 minutes past each hour will be diverted via Havant.

'Southampton Central to Portsmouth & Southsea services will terminate at Fareham.

'Portsmouth & Southsea to Southampton Central services will start at Fareham.

'We are arranging road transport and we will have more information as soon as possible.

'We are sorry for the disruption this is causing to your journey today.'
