UPDATE: Portsmouth road re-opens after moped crash

A CITY centre road has re-opened after a crash between a moped and a car this morning.

The collision took place shortly before 10am at the junction of Alexandra Road and Lake Road, in Landport, Portsmouth.

Paramedics and police rushed to the scene and sealed the route off, while treatment was given to the injured moped rider.

The incident caused delays to Stagecoach’s 23 bus service, with the road shut for almost an hour.

Officers have since re-opened the route.

There has been no statement about the severity of the injuries to the casualty.
