A WOMAN who has dedicated more than four decades to volunteering has been made the Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Hampshire.

Lindsay Fox, who was awarded an MBE for her voluntary sector work in 2013, accepted the invitation to become the new Vice Lord-Lieutenant last week.

Mrs Fox, who is a trustee of The Blue Lamp Trust, a Hampshire-based charity that promotes community safety supported by the police and fire service, was High Sheriff of Hampshire in 1997-98
and was appointed as a
Deputy Lieutenant during that year.

She worked for the Citizens’ Advice Bureau for 11 years, has been a magistrate for 30 years and during her year as High Sheriff she was active in getting the Bobby Trust, now part of the Blue Lamp Trust, rolled out across the county.

Mark Bradford, from The Blue Lamp Trust, said: ‘The trust is proud to have Lindsay as a trustee. She will bring a wealth of experience to the role of Vice Lord-Lieutenant.’
