IT WAS a day full of surprises for Emily Makinson who was on her hen weekend.
The 28-year-old, from Hertfordshire, was brought along to the festival by her friends to celebrate her hen-do.
The whole trip down to Portsmouth had been a secret and Emily didn’t even know who the headline acts were or what sort of other activities would be available at the festival.
She said: ‘The whole weekend was one, really big surprise.
‘I didn’t know where I was going or what we were going to do when we arrived.
‘Then, even when we had arrived they didn’t tell me anything.
‘So there were a lot of surprises.’
Her friends from school Sahara Yohennesburg and Kayleigh McGrail said they had fun at the festival.
Kayleigh, 28, from Farnborough, said: ‘We saw this festival online and really wanted to come down to celebrate Emily’s hen do.
‘It seemed like a really good weekend away with some great acts performing.
‘We had a lot of fun and there was so much to do.’
The ladies visited the Castle Stage and the Seaside stage and enjoyed listening to the range of music.
They also shopped around the boutique stalls and made cupcakes.
Emily added: ‘The whole festival was a lot of fun. We loved Scouting for Girls.
‘The music was great and we all had a little dance near the stage.
‘The weather was really nice so that topped it all off.’
