A charity supporting young families is looking for new volunteers.

Home-Start Meon Valley supports families with children under five.

In 2014-15, the charity’s 60 volunteers supported 74 Meon Valley families, including 124 adults and 184 children.

Applications are welcomed from those with parenting experience who can spare two to three hours a week to offer friendship, support and practical help to families.

Volunteers are trained for 40 hours before being matched with a family.

Travel expenses are
reimbursed, and free courses are offered in safeguarding, paediatric first aid and infant and toddler sleep improvement.

The next training course begins on Wednesday, January 13, and continues each Wednesday until March 9.

There is a break during half-term week.

Those interested in volunteering can contact the Home-Start Meon Valley organiser at 01329 835936 or visit the website homestart-meonvalley.org.uk.
