SCORES of people from community groups have signed up to take part in a huge clear-up.

Schools, churches and shop staff from across Leigh Park are joining together for Clean up for Summer week from July 14.

The Leigh Park Community Led Planning Group, which is made up of residents and organisations in the town, has discovered that one of the biggest bugbears for people is litter, dog mess and fly-tipped waste.

Havant Borough Council has already clamped down on it by bringing in an environmental enforcement agency and issuing fixed penalty notices.

But residents feel more needs to be done.

Volunteers from Sharps Copse School, St Francis Church, Leigh Park Community Centre and Community First’s V Team are all taking part in clean-up events throughout the week.
