CHILDREN in Uganda will benefit from a sponsored walk through East Hampshire’s glorious countryside.

The Park to Park Challenge 2012 will raise funds for the Queen Elizabeth Parks Twinning Project which supports conservation, community and education projects in the African nation.

The challenge, on Saturday, is an 8.5-mile walk from Staunton Country Park, in Havant, to Queen Elizabeth Country Park, in Horndean. For a shorter walk participants can join at Finchdean and Chalton.

Fancy dress with an African theme is welcomed at the sponsored event.

It starts in the main car park at 10.30am.
