STAFF from Halifax branches across the Portsmouth area are limbering up for a mammoth walk in aid of a good cause.

Around 100 employees will take part in the challenge on Sunday, April 27, to raise cash for Home-Start Portsmouth.

Teams from each bank, from Havant to Locks Heath, will walk to as many branches as they can between 9am and 5pm. The challenge could clock up 26 miles.

Louise Smith, 46, from the Havant branch in West Street, said: ‘We can’t wait.

‘The staff are so excited. They think it’s a great idea and want to raise as much money as they possibly can.’

The team hopes to raise £4,000. To donate, visit a Halifax branch and sponsor the fundraisers.
