FIREFIGHTERS are warning people not to make prank calls after they were called out to a false alarm.

One crew from Cosham was called to Leominster Road, in Paulsgrove, to reports of a kitchen fire.

But when two fire engines turned up, the occupant said there was no fire and no call had been made from the household.

The incident happened at 8.57am yesterday.

Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service traced the call, and attempted to ring the person back, but there was no reply.
