THE Environment Agency has issued a warning about rising water levels in Westbourne.

Heavy overnight rainfall and high groundwater levels have meant that levels in the River Ems have risen over the past few hours.

Levels are continuing to rise and as a result there could be property flooding in parts of Westbourne and through Lumley Lane.

The Environment Agency has field teams in the area monitoring the situation.

Further rainfall of a showery nature will affect the area through today and then another system of rain is expected overnight.
