FIREFIGHTERS are warning of the dangers of not having a working smoke alarm after a blaze in a house.

Two fire engines were called to a semi-detached property in Brecon Avenue, Drayton, when a fire started upstairs.

A spokesman said: ‘This house had no smoke detectors which put everyone who lives there at risk. We urge people to install alarms and check them regularly.’

No one was hurt in the fire which started at around 6pm on Sunday.
