FROM colourful dahlias to giant pumpkins, a horticultural show was back with a bang.

Warsash Horticultural Society organised the event at Victory Hall for the first time since 2007 and it was a big success with about 200 entries.

Cupcake winners from the left are Grace Goddard, Ruby Goddard and Katie Schuster (151559-393)

The show had a range of categories from potted flowers to vegetables and a photography section.

Brian Holleyoak, from Warsash, won first prize in the black-and-white photograph category.

He said: ‘I never expected to win but it is good. It is great to have the show back again.’

Vice-chairwoman of the society Rona Neilson said it had been impressed with the standards.
