A GROUP of sea cadets are calling on the public to vote for them so they can bag a £25,000 grant for new equipment.

Warsash Sea Cadets, based at Warsash Maritime Academy, have been nominated for the cash in the Engage Mutual Foundation community awards.

Cadet trustee Adrian Saunders said: ‘Primarily we need to replace our old RIB boat which provides safety cover to the unit’s 60 cadets when they are on the water and storage for our equipment.’

Engage Mutual Assurance customers nominate charities in their areas and the ones with the most votes receive grants of between £5,000 and £25,000.

To vote go to engagemutual.com/foundation/projects/warsash-sea-cadets/
