WATCH: Emergency services called to fire at Portsmouth scrapyard

A BLAZE in a Portsmouth scrapyard has now been put out by firefighters.

In total five fire engines – two from Cosham, two from Havant and one from Portchester - were called to Marshlands Road, Farlington, to a fire at Tilbury Metals scrapyard.

The call came in at 3.20pm.

A spokesman for the fire service said that it involved a fire in an area of about 5m by 20m, and that firefighters had surrounded the area. It was out just after 4.20pm.

Everybody in the scrapyard was accounted for, and there were no reports of injuries.

An ambulance was called as a precautionary measure and police were called in for traffic control.
