Waterlooville mum and son are cycling 200 miles for charity

A mother and son are cycling more than 200 miles to raise money for an armed forces charity.

Tracy and Luke Blake, from Waterlooville, have started their journey, which will see them travel through Devon and Dorset before heading back to Hampshire.

The pair are joined by their assistance dog Chewbacca.

They started their journey on Monday and are expected to arrive at The Maritime Club, in Portsmouth, on July 2.

Tracey, a former member of the Women’s Royal Naval Service damaged her neck in an accident while serving and has battled limited neck movement and severe headaches ever since.

Luke, 18, is autistic and they have named themselves the P2P Trikers for their trek from Plymouth to Portsmouth.

Tracy says: ‘It’s going to be a long ride but with my son and Chewie by my side, we’ll make it.’

They are raising money for SSAFA which supports people in the armed forces and their families.

Tracy adds: ‘I volunteer for SSAFA and my work in Portsmouth supporting the veterans and serving community is so rewarding

‘I wanted to do this ride for them so they can continue with their good work.’

Tracy and Luke are also supporting the Royal Marines Children’s Fund.
