WATCH out for a fast-moving trail of red, white and blue as a group of grannies and grandads undertake a unique challenge.

A dozen elderly mobility scooter users will go on a 10-mile ride out from Waterlooville to Cosham and back again in aid of Queen Alexandra Hospital’s Rocky Appeal.

The group met through the All Mobility shop in Waterlooville and raised £1,800 on their first sponsored scoot last year.

Because it was so successful they have decided to go for it again and will make the journey tomorrow at 10am.

Sandra Brown, 68, from Milton Road, Waterlooville, said: ‘I can’t tell you how excited we all are.

‘Last year it was great fun and we made some great friends by doing it. We’re already decorating our scooters with red, white and blue balloons and Union Jack flags.’

Head of the Rocky Appeal Mick Lyons will be supporting the plucky pensioners.

To sponsor them, drop into All Mobility, Wellington Way, Waterlooville.
