A YOUNG woman from Waterlooville has been killed in a crash with a lorry.

The 24-year-old was driving a Vauxhall Corsa on the A272 just outside Winchester when she was involved in the collision.

It happened at 8.30am today and the road, close to Cheesefoot Head, was closed between the A31 and A32.

The 40-year-old driver of the lorry was treated for shock.

Police have appealed for information following the crash.

Sergeant Nigel Burt said: ‘I’d like to speak to anyone who might have seen the blue Vauxhall Corsa or the lorry being driven along the A272 this morning.

‘I would urge anyone with any information about this collision to come forward.’

Anyone with information relating to this incident is asked to contact Sergeant Burt or PC Mark Fruin in the Roads Policing Unit at Fratton police station on 101, quoting Operation Spey.

Alternatively calls can be made anonymously by calling charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
