The Friends of Leesland Park in Gosport are calling on local residents, their families, friends and dogs to show their support by attending ParkFest13.

It is due to take place on Saturday, September 21 and opens at 2pm.

The festival runs on into the night with live music from local bands guaranteed to keep people dancing in the dark.

While ParkFest13 will feature many regular stallholders and activities, an exciting new feature this year will be the Paws in the Park fun dog show.

A number of awards are up for grabs including most talented dog, dog most like its owner and a cup for the Champion of Champions.

For the under-fives there is also the opportunity to bring along their favourite toy dog.

Pre-event sign up for this activity is available by emailing the team at parkfest.dogshow@gmail.com

In addition to our canine friends, there will be a wide range of stalls featuring everything from children’s knitwear to second-hand vinyl, children’s entertainment, have-a-go archery, plate smashing, zombie hunts, inflatables, dress-up opportunities and refreshments.

That includes quite possibly the best burger van ever, a late bar and live music from local musicians and bands.

Access to the park, dog show, children’s entertainment and the live music is all free.

While the aim is to give local people a fun and entertaining day out in their local park, we are also keen to promote the park and its attractions, as well as celebrate the work of professionals and volunteers over the past year.

Hampshire County Council is also thanked for its continuing financial support.
