THE weather has caused disruption to rubbish and recycling collections in Waterlooville and Hayling Island.

Workers will not be sent out until it is deemed safe for them to work, which mean collections will be delayed by a few hours.

Any bins that aren’t picked up will be collected later in the week.

Street cleansing teams will focus on areas where there’s a high footfall of pedestrians and will assist with clean up work elsewhere as required.

Parks and open spaces teams will assist in clean up activities, particularly trees that have been brought down.

Operational Services staff are also on standby to assist Hampshire County Council to ensure highways are cleared.
