A HUGE blaze at a barn in West Sussex is likely to burn over the next few days.

Hundreds of tyres caught fire in the barn off Brimfast Lane, Sidlesham, near Chichester, at about 3.45am yesterday.

At its height, more than 30 firefighters tackled the blaze to bring it under control. The fire will be allowed to burn itself out as it poses no threat to the public. Neighbours have been advised to keep their windows closed because of the plume of black smoke created.

The cause is being investigated.
