YOUNG wheelchair users are being invited to a free workshop on learning new skills in their chairs.

Those who come along will be taught skills such as manoeuvring and back wheel balancing – so that you can go up and down kerbs independently.

They can also try games such as wheelchair basketball and have a go at wheelchair dance.

The national charity Go Kids Go is holding the workshop at Portchester Community School in White Hart Lane, Portchester on Thursday, August 16 from 9.30am to 3pm.

It is open to all young wheelchair users – manual or powered – throughout the region. They also bring spare wheelchairs so family and friends can get involved.

Anyone wishing to attend call Roy Wild on (01482) 887163.
