THE Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust is celebrating its 50th anniversary – by launching an online photography competition.

The organisation wants to find 12 winning photos for a calendar for next year.

Called ‘Get out there!’ the competition is asking the general public to enjoy the diverse wildlife and wild places that the county has to offer and have some fun taking photos at the same time.

Entrants can load their photos by following the link to the Hampshire & Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust’s website.

Budding photographers can also download a top tips leaflet which shows the basics to taking great photographs.

The winning photographs will be used to create the 2012 calendar which will be on sale over Christmas 2011.

Sponsors, Castle Cameras, will also be putting up a prize of a £150 voucher to use in one of their stores.

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust’s 50th anniversary fundraising officer Julie Bythell said: ‘We really want to encourage anyone and everyone to get out there and have some fun taking photos.

‘They might be surprised by the results and what better reason to get out there and enjoy the wildlife.’
