WITH Richie Barker’s first home game this weekend, Fratton Park is set to be alive with excitement.

And The News is giving you the chance to be there and experience it.

Two lucky fans can win a set of tickets to see this Saturday’s game against Newport County., which is also the annual Santa Saturday

Pompey will be battling for three points and their first win in seven games.

The News is giving away the tickets for the family area at Fratton Park, in association with the Pompey’s 12th Man Pay4APOMPEYPAL scheme.

But we don’t want to hear from just anyone.

We want the nominations to come in for all those people who really deserve a day out.

Whether they have been going through a particularly tough time, find most days a struggle, or who have been a support for those people in their lives who have needed it, we want to know about them. All we ask is that they don’t mind chatting to us about their nomination.

Editor of The News, Mark Waldron, said: ‘We want to do this to underpin the fact that Pompey is a community club.

‘We have bought these tickets from Pompey’s 12th Man, which helps deserving people get to football matches, as a way for hard-working and deserving people to watch their football team in action.

The News is as much at the heart of the community both within Portsmouth and the surrounding area as Pompey is, so it seemed like an ideal plan to join the two together in this way.

‘We’ve already given tickets away, and we’ll be doing the same for every home game this season.’

The News also has space for a match-day mascot to line up on the pitch for each home game, and again we want to hear about youngsters who really deserve this special treat.

To apply is simple.

Email nominations for either the tickets or the mascot place to ellie.pilmoor@thenews.co.uk by 5pm tomorrow.
Put both yours and the nominee’s address and telephone number on the submission.
The winners and their nominees must be happy to be interviewed by one of our reporters.
All previous submissions have been kept.
