A WOMAN was lucky to escape with minor injuries after her car crashed and flipped just outside a racecourse.

Emergency services were called after a car lost control near Goodwood Racecourse, Chichester.

The silver vehicle crashed shortly before 9.30am yesterday and two police cars, paramedics and a fire crew from Chichester were called to the scene.

A spokesman for West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said only one car was involved in the incident and the driver was released from her car before firefighters were on the scene.

Witness Mike Rixon, 25, said: ‘It looked really bad.

‘The car rolled and was halfway in a bush.’

A police spokesman said: ‘We were called after a car overturned in Kennel Hill, Goodwood.

‘The woman who was driving was taken to St Richard’s Hospital for treatment for minor injuries.’
