A WOMAN was seriously injured while crossing the road in Portsmouth yesterday.

Police are investigating after the road traffic collision involving a pedestrian and a red Volkswagen Corrado on Kingston Crescent.

A 52 year-old woman from the city was injured while she was crossing the road at around 2.20pm.

She was taken to Southampton General Hospital with serious, but not threatening injuries. Her condition is described as stable.

No-one else was injured. Police are now keen to hear from witnesses who were in the area at the time.
