A WOMAN who has lived in the same street all her life will celebrate her 100th birthday next weekend.

A party between friends and family will be held for Georgina Mary Brown, who lives in West Street, Hambledon, on Saturday, January 14 at Hambledon Methodist Church.

The celebrations will start at 4pm and finish at 6pm. A buffet will be put on for guests and friend of the family Verity Steele will perform a few numbers on her violin.

Ms Brown formerly ran Lott’s Stores, which is next door to her home, with her grandfather George Harry Lott.

Mr Lott was also a blacksmith in the village.

Ms Brown’s daughter Pam Napier, 71, who lives in Harvest Road, Denmead, said: ‘It’s absolutely fantastic that she’s going to be celebrating her 100th birthday.

‘She’s a real character and everyone in Hambledon knows her.

‘She loves to giggle and have a good time. She’s lived in the same home her entire life, which is amazing really.

‘A lot of people know her more than she knows them.’
