FIRE crews were called to help a woman who was locked out of her home while she thought her oven was on.

Firefighters from Gosport arrived at the address in St John’s Square at 6.25pm yesterday.

They were unable to let the woman back into her home which meant a council locksmith had to be called.

She was let back into her property about an hour after the call.

Due to the nature of the incident the crew stayed with her to determine whether there was any smoke damage.

Her oven was not on, it turned out.
