THE MAYOR of Havant will host a concert in aid of his favourite charities.

Councillor Ken Smith and his wife Hazel will be guests of honour at a performance by the Highbury Area Band on February 5 at the recently-refurbished Public Service Plaza, formerly the Havant civic offices.

The money raised will be split between Dorothy’s Dream, which is The Rowans Hospice At Home Appeal, and the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance as well as other charitable causes in the borough.

The band is recognised as one of the most accomplished symphonic youth wind bands in Hampshire.

Cllr Smith said: ‘Hazel and I are delighted the band has agreed to perform to raise much-needed funds for the appeal.

‘We hope that many people join us to share the experience of what we know will be a memorable and enjoyable occasion.’

Tickets are £5 each with concessions at £3.50. To buy call (023) 9244 6152 or email anne.thurlow@havant.gov.uk.
