BUILDING works have started at a cancer support centre in Titchfield.
The Haven in Wessex, based at The Square, has started to be refurbished today with work lasting around 30 weeks.
The charity, which provides support for women diagnosed with breast cancer, had to raise £1.1m for the building works.
Pam Healy, chief executive, said: ‘Today is a really important day and it is exciting to see the building work started.
‘We have been working hard to get the money and it is great to have raised the £1.1m needed to transform the centre.’
