SINGER Jahmene Douglas is performing at a fireworks night event.

The X Factor contestant, who was runner-up on the show in 2012, will make a guest appearance at HMS Sultan’s bonfire and fireworks night next week.

Joined by live performances from girl group NW10 and band Jagmac, Jahmene will entertain visitors as Robert Kenny from The Breeze Daytime Show leads the countdown to the start of the fireworks.

Every year, thousands of people go to the base in Gosport to enjoy the funfair and other entertainment including fire breathers.

The gates open on Thursday, October 29 at 6pm, with the bonfire lit at 7.15pm and the fireworks display at 8pm.

Tickets are available at a discounted rate from a number of vendors including The News offices at 1000 Lakeside in North Harbour, Portsmouth, and in Fareham, Asda Gosport and a number of newsagents.
