A 37ft yacht that set sail from Gosport had to be towed to safety after getting into difficulties off the Isle of Wight.

The crew of the yacht, Poohstix, told Solent Coastguard they were unable to make progress because of lack of wind and engine failure.

Cowes RNLI lifeboat went out at about 5pm on Friday and towed the yacht back to Shepards Wharf Marina in Cowes.

The vessel, with three men and a woman on board, had set off from Haslar with the intention to sail to Bucklers Hard on the Beaulieu River in the New Forest.
