A YACHT team managed to avoid finishing last in an around the world race after having to take a detour.

Jamaica Get All Right, skippered by Pete Stirling from Titchfield, finished tenth in Race 12 of the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race.

The team completed the leg from Panama to Jamaica in three days, 18 hours and 23 minutes after being forced to take a longer route. But they managed to sneak into tenth place.

Qingdao, skippered by Gosport resident Gareth Glover, finished Race 12 in eighth position.
