HAVE you been engaged for what feels like a lifetime, but have no cash for a wedding venue?
Perhaps you’ve got a special birthday coming up and would love to celebrate in style.
Or maybe you’d like to make some money for a charity close to your heart by holding a big fundraiser.
We’ve teamed up with the manager of the Square Tower in Old Portsmouth to offer a fantastic prize of use of this historic building for a full day, worth up to £1,200.
The 500-year-old tower is a seafront landmark and is the oldest usable building on Portsea Island.
Used to store gunpowder in the Civil War, the tower has been hosting events from magic shows to craft fairs and weddings to funerals for the past three years.
It is fully licenced to stage plays, films, live music and serve alcoholic drinks from 9am to 10pm, seven days a week.
Manager Steve Hender said: ‘We want to give someone the chance to use this fantastic venue for a worthy cause.
‘We’re open to ideas and no event is too big or small. We just want the most deserving person or people to have this opportunity.’
The Tudor building has two halls – the lower hall can seat up to 100 people and the upper hall can accommodate up to 80 people.
Both of these rooms can be decorated to suit every taste or function.
There is also a big projector screen and a bar area which can be manned free-of-charge for the winning event. All refreshments will be charged separately.
Steve added: ‘It’s a beautiful historic building set in the heart of Old Portsmouth, so its an amazing prize.
‘I’m looking forward to seeing the entries.’
