Young drivers tested their skills behind the wheel at East Hampshire District Council’s Autotest event.
Run in partnership with Southsea Motor Club, it challenged 24 boys and girls, aged between 14 and 21 to navigate their way through a tricky course laid out in the car park of the council’s offices in Penns Place, Petersfield.
The track challenged their ability to manoeuvre a car accurately around a short course competing against their peers with a series of timed runs.
Precision, rather than speed, was the key to success as the exercises included avoiding contact with cones and stopping at exact points.
The cares were generously lent by Petersfield firm TS Recovery who watch the youngsters work their way around the course.
The council was so pleased with the success of the event it has already begun plans for next years event.
