YOUNG theatre lovers have been given an insight into life on the stage.

The Kings Summer School, held at The Kings Theatre, Southsea, gave youngsters a chance to get creative and discover what goes into making a show.

They also starred in a musical about a hare and a tortoise called Zoom! which they performed in front of proud friends and family.

Sandra Smith, of The Kings Theatre, said everyone loved the experience.

‘They took it so seriously,’ she said.

‘It was quite something to see them put something together in a short amount of time.

‘The show was wonderful.

‘They loved taking part in the performance and performing on a stage.

‘They put costumes and props together.

‘What better place to go and do something like this?’

Another school is being held from August 12 to 16.
