Families are being urged to donate toys to help Portsmouth’s most vulnerable children this Christmas.

Argos in Commercial Road is holding an event to raise funds for children’s charity Barnardo’s tomorrow.

Shoppers can donate second-hand toys in exchange for a £5 toy voucher, which can be spent in Argos towards the cost of new toys before Christmas Day.

The donated items will be sold in Barnardo’s shops, raising money which will help to transform the lives of some of the most disadvantaged children in the city and their families.

As well as the chance to meet Minnie and Micky Mouse between 12.30pm and 1.30pm, there will be free activities for families such as colouring competitions
and guess the name of the bear.

It is the fourth year the retailer has teamed up with Barnardo’s for the Argos Toy Exchange scheme.

Last year £560,000 was raised to help children and young people across the UK.
