LOCAL theatre company CCADS is looking for young aspiring actors to appear in its new production.

The North End-based group is calling on children aged between seven and 14 to audition for a wide range of principal and ensemble roles for its forthcoming take on Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Whistle Down the Wind.

The open auditions will take place at Giselle Academy of Dance and Drama in Derby Road, North End, on December 16, with registration from 9.30am.

There will be a series of workshops in acting, singing and movement, and the company will shortlist candidates through to the next stage. Participants should research the plot of the production and become familiar with the song No Matter What.

Those successful will be invited to the full cast gathering on December 20 at John Pounds Hall, High Street, Old Portsmouth, and rehearsals start in January.

The production will take residency at Ferneham Hall in Fareham from March 28 until March 30 next year.

To attend the auditions, request a registration form by contacting CCADS secretary Maria Pegden on (023) 9247 7466 or email mariapegden@gmail.com.
