THE public are invited to comment on plans for a big refurbishment of a community centre.

Emsworth Community Association has applied for a grant of £200,000 from Hampshire County Council to transform the centre, which is behind the fire station, in North Street.

The committee would like to install a new front porch, rearrange the reception area and make the whole centre much more inviting.

As part of the application process the plans must be put to the community for their comments.

The community centre is a busy building used by a number of social groups.

The association which runs it was started 25 years ago with the objective of promoting education in the local community.

It will be discussed at the next Emsworth Residents Association meeting, which is at the community centre, on Monday at 7.30pm.
