FIREFIGHTERS will be trying their hand at the latest dance craze in a bid to help raise cash for a cancer charity.

Fareham Fire Station will be playing host to the event this evening where Zumba instructor Ann Alderman will lead people in classes for the charity Children with Leukaemia.

The evening has been organised by friends of the Cowpe family from Hill Head.

Tom Cowpe, seven, was diagnosed with the disease just before his fifth birthday. Family friend Terri Peart-Davis said: ‘We’re hoping to get as many people as possible involved.’

Station manager Paul Coates added: ‘We’re happy to help, and some of the lads might be taking part – just not the ones on shift.’

The classes are open to everyone and run from 7pm and 8pm this evening. They cost £5 each to take part in.
