King George VI talking to a man wearing the uniform of the Free French navy in Portsmouth Dockyard (November 16, 1944)

Thanks to everyone who identified the uniform of the man speaking to George VI during a visit to Portsmouth Dockyard in 1944.

You all said it belonged to the Free French navy.

I’ve passed the information to Bob Todd, of the National Maritime Museum, Greenwich, who asked for your help.
