Young marines cadets are called up for get-together

The Royal Marines Volunteer Cadet Corps' field gun team of 1972

The Royal Marines Volunteer Cadet Corps' field gun team of 1972

Their motto is Be Worthy and these lads, all pictured in the 1970s and 1980s, seem to be living up to expectations.

They are members of the Portsmouth division of the Royal Marines Volunteer Cadet Corps (RMVCC).

All the photographs here come from Loz Richer, a one-time cadet who is still an instructor with the corps.

And if mention of the RMVCC brings back memories for you or your family, you might be interested in a reunion planned for Saturday, March 30.

Lesley Richer is helping organise the event and she wants to hear from all ex-cadets, instructors and members of the parents’ association. It will be held in The Victory Club at HMS Nelson, Queen Street, Portsmouth. Further information from lcricher@hotmail.com or (023) 9281 4533.
