Thousands back call to ban Trump from the UK
MORE than 5,000 people from the Portsmouth area have signed an online petition calling for US presidential hopeful Donald Trump to be banned from the UK.
Across the country, 578,000 have signed the petition for the sanction to be introduced on the controversial right-wing figure.
In this area, by parliamentary constituency, 563 people from Gosport have signed, 741 in Fareham, 529 in Havant, 723 in Meon Valley, 935 in Chichester, 1,154 in Portsmouth South and 573 in Portsmouth North.
There is a deadline of June 8 to sign. If 100,000 people sign before then, there is a high chance the issue will be debated in Parliament.
