FIREFIGHTERS were blocked on their way to a special school after the parking of a car left an appliance unable to pass it in the street.

An crew from Fareham fire station was sent to St Francis Special School in Fareham after the school’s automatic fire alarm was triggered at 10.36am yesterday.

However, the crew had to divert after a driver left a car in Oldbury Way parked in such a way that the truck could not pass.

A spokesperson for the station said that the parking was ‘dangerous’ as the situation could have been ‘far worse.’
