A ROTARY club’s project to build solar panels on the roof of a school in Tondo, Manila in the Philippines that provides help to disadvantaged children was finally completed this week.

The Rotary Club of Fareham and the Rotary Club of Makati Uptown in the Philippines have been working together over the past two years on the project, which will see the school save around 35 per cent of its electricity costs.

Jane Walker, from the Fareham club, previously set up the Philippine Community Fund School in Tondo which cares for around 800 children in the area.
