AN MP welcomed a business to parliament to take part in a defence and maritime reception.

Fareham MP Suella Fernandes hosted Fareham-based engineering and science consultancy BMT to an event for industry experts.

During the reception, Miss Fernandes and Andrew Cooper, managing director at BMT Reliability Consultants, addressed the audience about innovation in the defence and maritime sector.

Miss Fernandes said: ‘BMT is an innovative consultancy, operating mainly in the maritime industries, and is an important employer and contributor to the local economy in the Solent area.

‘It was a pleasure hosting the reception at parliament and meeting with experts.

‘The reception gave me the opportunity to talk about some important issues and opportunities facing businesses in Fareham, and economic forecasts suggest we should be confident about the future for business and enterprise in Fareham.’
